There is plenty of demonization today. It’s almost like it’s in the water. The times have gotten worse: people are faker, more self-centered, and less loving oday than most people 100 years ago would have thought possible; the music is fouler than it ever was; the movies are brazenly desensitizing the masses with constant sex, sadistic violence, shamelessly and subtly promoting pedophilia, constant sexualization of children (like Netflix’s ‘Cuties’), and the list goes on. Spiritual bondage is one of the results of all of that.
There are people in bondage because of generational curses or generational iniquities; some are in bondage because someone put a curse on them; some come from occult or satanic families who made them the scapegoat to bear curses and suffer in life while the occult members would in turn receive favors like wealth, fame, prestige, recognition (yes, this does happen); some undergo satanic ritual abuse and suffer from unhealed traumas; others partook in occult activity– ‘harmless’ (like palm reading) or ‘dark’ (like casting spells and sacrifices)– and are now paying for their decisions. Wherever you fit, if you are seeking deliverance, it can be found in Jesus Christ. But here are some things it would help for you to know and practice as you seek deliverance:
- Not every deliverance ministry will be able to help you. Some have more knowledge than others, and some have more love than others. The Bible says, “Love never fails” (1Corinthians 13:8). But that is God’s love. And God does most of His work on earth through human beings. If you don’t get the deliverance you need or don’t sense any progress in a deliverance ministry, move on and look for another. God isn’t opposed to that.
- Depend on God to connect you with the right person(s) for deliverance. God knows what you need better than anyone else. You might be looking for a specialist to deliver you and God puts you with a small church in which environment you receive your deliverance.
- Seek mature Christians. They’re hard to find, but pray for God to bring them into your life. Just one or two of them can make a tremendous difference in your life. When needing deliverance, just one mature Christian will definitely be a tremendous asset.
- Be prepared for the long haul. There is a lot of holdup with God’s will today as “the harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few” (Luke 10:2). This forces many people to wait for their breakthrough longer than God intended. Be prepared to wait so that waiting doesn’t catch you off-guard.
