Spiritual bondage is very common. People who aren’t saved have spiritual bondage, and Christians have spiritual bondage. There is sometimes a debate among Christians about whether or not Christians can have demons. The answer is yes, Christians can have demons. It would be nice if this wasn’t true, but it’s true.
If you are here because you’re struggling or suffering with some type spiritual oppression, spiritual harassment (eg. nightmares and night visitations), spiritual torment, or spiritual affliction (eg. curses or constant bad luck), you are by no means alone. There is hope. Here are some things we think it’s important for you to know and grasp and put into practice as you seek deliverance:
- Look up some books and articles about satan’s MO and how he steals, kills, and destroys. It’s easy to read or hear the Bible say things about satan and subconsciously think, “Okay, I guess… So, anything exciting going on today?” John Paul Jackson’s book ‘Needless Casualties of War’ is about the casualties that many Christians suffered because they presumed to attack and assault satan and the high-level angels in his train and those entities retaliated against the Christians causing harm and death. It’s a very good book to read if you’re going to get involved or enmeshed in some way in warfare. It’s a good reminder that satan is a real problem and does have the authority to attack and harm Christians when he has legal grounds to do so. Knowing satan’s MO for Chrisians gives you insight and discernment and helps you to understand if the things going on in your life or in the people around you are innocent and just human, if they’re of God, or if they’re of satan. You can make far beter decisions and choices this way.
- Determine to get closer to God. The closer you are to God, the better you can sense and hear or pick up on what He is saying to you. James said, “Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you” (James 4:8). Bible reading and formal prayer are both important when you draw close to God, but what I’ve found to work faster, and more naturally depending on who is doing it, is simply communicating with God informally through the day. Talk to Him about any and every thing. You will begin to recognize His presence near you and will have better guidance for deliverance.
