- Find prayer partners. If you can find one or two Christians you know who will stand with you in prayer and agreement for your deliverance, this can be of great benefit. There is a ‘law of agreement’ that the Bible often alludes to in which two people (or two parties; ie. more than one person) exceedingly multiply the chances of success in any venture far more than just one person can. Sometime after God created Adam, He said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make him a helper” (Genesis 2:18). God did not make a hundred other human beings; He made just Eve so that there could two rather than one. Solomon said, “Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor” (Ecclesiastes 4:9). And Jesus said, “If any two of you agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them by My Father in Heaven” (Matthew 18:19). Find prayer partners– at least one– who will devote time to praying with and for you to get deliverance.
- Deepen your relationship with God. We need horizontal relationships and support, and then we also need vertical relationships and support. You deepen your relationship with God through set apart prayer times, meditating on the Bible, daily communication with Him wherever you are (ie. informal prayer), and acts of obedience– obeying the things you already know to do. Deepening your relationship with God allows Him to lead and guide you in your search for deliverance.
The two points above sum up the fact that you need help from both people and from God: “May He send you help from the sanctuary and give you support from Zion” (Psalm 20:2).\
