As of April 2022, the times are pretty bad. I believe that all the lights, entertainment, and thrills are only preventing many people from realizing the true state of things. Unnecessary conflicts and wars are shamelessly promoted by our politicians, leaders, and news channels; children are constantly being sexualized and targeted for every new and unhealthy fad; Hollywood is shamelessly pushing occult movies, graphic violence, hypersexuality, and anti-Christ themes; and the response of most churches is to meet once a week for the usual. Due to an influx of sin and of satanic themes, there is a commensurate influx of spiritual oppression and bondage.
If you are seeking deliverance, the following points below can be beneficial:
- Sanctify your life to God. God wants Christians to live a lifestyle of sanctification. He told Israel, “Is this what I have chosen– only a day for a man to [fast]? Is this what you call a fast, an acceptable day to the Lord? Is this not the fast that I have chosen– to loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, to let the oppressed go free, and that you break every yoke” (Isaiah 58:5-6). A sanctified life closes the door on the enemy before and after deliverance and translates to justice for the oppressed.
- Know your enemy. The devil’s MO is vast, but he has some foundational tactics. The more you learn about his tactics, the faster you recognize when events, experiences, and people in your life are from the enemy and not natural or happenstance. Paul warned to “not [be] ignorant of his schemes” (2Corinthians 2:11).
- Seek out mature Christians. Mature Christians are indispensable when you’re seeking deliverance, not so much because of their knowledge of spiritual things but because they will stand with you as you seek and undergo deliverance until they have seen you through. Ask God to send one or two mature Christians to you.
