Before there were problems in this world, God already had solutions. Everything we need for inventions, innovations, cures for diseases and illnesses, etc., can be found on this planet. Revelation 13:8 says that Jesus was “crucified before the foundation of the world.” That simply means God had the solution to the Fall of man, sin, and evil far before any of those things ever came into existence. In the same way, God has a solution for all spiritual issues and bondage problems.
The following is a list of helpful practices for you as you seek deliverance and reach out to deliverance ministries and churches:
- The full armor of God is required in spiritual warfare. You will face spiritual resistance when seeking deliverance. The full armor of God in Ephesians 6 is not pieces you put on like clothes but rather is a lifestyle that causes these ‘pieces’ of armor to ‘assemble’ on your spirit man like clothes. In Ephesians 6, Paul lists five pieces of armor and one weapon because in that passage his focus is defensive, not offensive, warfare. To clarify what this armor is, Paul also says, “Put on the armor of light… Put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh to fulfill its lusts” (Romans 13:12, 14). Therefore, the full armor of God is simply a godly lifestyle that covers you spiritually and protects you from the enemy’s schemes. In 2Corinthians 6:3-10– where Paul lists the type of lifestyle that causes the armor of Christ to ‘assemble’ on a Christian– Paul says he lived (his lifestyle) “by the armor of righteousness on the right hand and on the left.” Learn about the armor, and ask God to enable you to live the type of godly life that covers and protects you from the enemy.
- Get together with mature Christians. Ask God to connect you with Christians who have a deeper-than-average understanding of spiritual realities. They will be indispensable for deliverance and living a sanctified life.
- Thank God. Even before you get deliverance, ask God to give you a thankful heart and be thankful because God works in you to will and to seek deliverance according to His will.
