There are steps you can take to make sure you find the right deliverance ministry and to make you receive your deliverance. These steps revolve around a.) the closeness of your relationship with God and b.) your acquisition of insight that will help you reach your destination. Here are some of these steps for you:
- Deepen your relationship with God. Rather than just reading the Bible, go through it slowly until a Scripture jumps out at you; or go to the Scripture that is already on your mind that comes to your mind and then see if you get any new or fresh insight while reading it. Sometimes, the Holy Spirit will drop particular Scriptures into our hearts or minds because He wants to speak to us through them. So, don’t just read your Bible; rather, reading it meditatively, pondering on it and thinking about it and waiting for God to speaks to you because He will.
- Seek out mature Christians. You need to ask God to connect you with these people. You can’t spot them by casual observance (it might be the pastor’s son, the new addition to the worship team, the socially awkward guy at church, the lady who works in the church daycare); you need insight or revelation from the Holy Spirit to spot them. Why seek mature Christians? In 1John 2:12-14, John mentioned the three levels of Christian growth: “little children… young men… fathers.” Little children are in the “Bless me” stage (self-focused); young men are in the “making war in the heavenlies” stage (others-focused), and fathers are in the “Him who is from the beginning” stage (God-focused). The last two groups are mature (ie. maturing, spiritually growing up) and would be indispensable in your search for deliverance.
- Learn satan’s tactics. The enemy’s tactics are multi-faceted, but they all are summed up under “to kill, to steal, and to destroy” (John 10:10). As you seek deliverance, know for certain that the enemy will setting traps and distractions to discourage or make you quit searching for deliverance.
