Some people want release so they can live life without spiritual torment. Some people want deliverance so they can be free and minister deliverance to others. Whichever one you are, these are some helpful steps as you seek deliverance:

Be ready to fight. Even human beings who have someone under their control have a very hard time letting them go free. Pharaoh refused to let Israel go in spite of nine distressing plagues. And in the days of slavery in America, slaveowners did all they could to retain control over their slaves. This all is because people who have the mindset of a slaveowner (eg. slavery era slave-owners, Pharaoh, and satan) will fight and do all they can to keep their slaves under their control. You will have to exert energy in your pursuit of deliverance.
Get prayer support. Prayer support helps to keep at bay some things that would otherwise distract and discourage you from seeking deliverance.
