The Bible predicted that as the world truly began rolling toward the very end of time– the edge of the cliff– things would get worse and worse. Well, if you look at the celestial map, ‘you are here’. Things haven’t gotten as bad as they will get, but we’re remarkably at the door, rubbing noses with the end. But what will the end look like?
Jesus said, “Just as it was in the days of Noah, so also will it be in the days of the Son of Man: people were eating and drinking, marrying and being given in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark. Then the flood came and destroyed them all. It was the same in the days of Lot: people were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building. But on the day Lot left Sodom, fire and sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all” (Luke 17:26-29). It’s fascinating how many people are still ‘bettering themselves’ and “buying and selling” as if riches can deliver them from the times.
In times like these, “We who have run for our very lives to God have every reason to grab the promised hope with both hands and never let go” (Hebrews 6:19). And in seeking deliverance in times like these, people should be willing to cling to God and be close to Him after deliverance and even before. Here are some tips for you who are seeking deliverance:
- Pray for mature Christians. With help from mature Christians, it is easier for God to provide all your needs including deliverance. Pray and ask God to connect you with Christians who are growing in God.
- Learn to recognize the MO of the enemy. The Bible says that satan is always at work, and even satan admitted it when God asked him what he was up to. (Job 1:6-7.) The more you learn about the enemy’s mentality and values, the more you will understand his MO and recognize when he’s at work in you, in other people, and in circumstances in your life, others’ lives, and world circumstances.
- Jesus is cheering for you. People who grow up with abusive dads or parents can’t comprehend the fact that God loves them. On the other hand, people whose parents are loving can easily believe God is also loving. So if you are seeking deliverance or help or support and not getting it from anyone, it’s easy to forget that Jesus is in your corner and is for you and is cheering you on. A friend once woke from a dream where he was attacked by demons and was very discouraged because no matter how he prayed, he felt like God wasn’t in his corner because the demonic attacks continued. As he sat there discouraged and angry, this song began to play: “Be still my soul; the Lord is on thy side…” He was reminded that despite the circumstances, God was in his corner. If you don’t have any real support, don’t give up. God is still supporting you.
