There has been an ever-increasing spiritual darkness in America for at least the last at least thirty years, perhaps beginning with the sudden emergence of knowledge about satanic ritual abuse. Hollywood has many overly violent, overly sexual, and pro-occult movies. Alongside that are the many reported and prosecuted instances of satanists who have molested and abused little children in preschools and daycares. As a result of a concerted push by satan and the occult, more and more people are in need of deliverance ministry.
If you or a loved one is seeking deliverance, these are helpful tips for you:
- Be aware of the spiritual battle going on around you. This isn’t about seeing demons everywhere but about believing that they are battling for people’s souls and are always lying in wait to steal, kill, and destroy lives. Both Old and New Testaments mention what most Christians know as “principalities… powers… rulers of the darkness of this age… spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places” (Ephesians 6:12). These are the angels, entities, and ‘territorial spirits’ who are far above demons. In Daniel 10, Gabriel mentions “the prince of the kingdom of Persia” who was a fallen angel. Gabriel also calls Michael “one of the chief princes” among God’s angels. There are both good and bad ‘rulers’, and the bad ones are the real issue as regards a Christian’s life, hardship, and spiritual warfare. They keep the battle going 24/7, and the more aware of this you are, the more sense it makes of many things and the wiser you become in your decisions and choices.
- Ask for prayer support from fellow Christians. Prayer support during any major move like deliverance is beneficial. If you don’t have anyone to pray with you, ask God to send you the encouragement and support you need.
- Rely on God for deliverance. David said, “Commit your way to the Lord; trust also in Him, and He will bring it to pass” (Psalm 37:5). So, while you’re aware of the enemy’s activity on earth, and while you’re getting supportive prayer from other Christians, your focus or faith for deliverance is on God.
